This May, I had the honour of hosting two beautiful retreats: Bloom and Reset, a lush retreat in the peaceful island of Spetses, and HelloYogaGlow, a slow-living holistic yoga retreat in the heart of the Italian countryside. Different in pace and setting, both were held with the same intention: to offer women a sacred pause from daily life, and a space to come home to themselves.
Each time I guide a retreat, I’m reminded, these women don’t gather by chance. Something much deeper brings us together. We arrive from different countries, carrying different stories, at different stages of life… and still, there’s always a quiet synchronicity. Each person is meant to be there. Each woman brings something that completes the circle.
We create a space that isn’t just about yoga or wellness. It’s about feeling seen. Heard. Held.
And more than anything, it’s about rest.
Today’s women are carrying so much. Many are navigating burnout, emotional fatigue, anxiety, and chronic stress, all while holding multiple roles and responsibilities. We’ve been taught to do more, give more, push through. But that’s not sustainable. Not for our bodies, our hearts, or our nervous systems.
That’s why I hold retreats. Because I know what it’s like to live disconnected - anxious, tired, overwhelmed, constantly giving without replenishing. And I also know what it’s like to live from a place of calm, clarity, creativity, and inner peace.
My retreats are born from this shift. From my own journey of healing complex trauma and learning to slow down. These spaces are where we practice a different way of living, one rooted in gentleness, slowness, presence, and joy.
You don’t need to be flexible or experienced in yoga. You don’t need to know how to meditate or have a “spiritual routine.” What you do need, is space. And a willingness to listen to your body.
Because our bodies speak in whispers. And most of us are too busy to hear them.
Back pain, digestive issues, insomnia, anxiety, exhaustion, they often have deeper emotional roots. Through breathwork, mindful movement, and nervous system regulation, we begin to release what’s been stuck. We learn how to feel again, not just think. We soften into ourselves.
And in the process, we remember who we really are, beneath the roles, responsibilities, and noise.
For me, retreating isn’t about escaping life. It’s about creating the conditions to live more fully. To reconnect with what matters. To meet ourselves again.
And because I live that way — taking walks in nature, meditating, journaling, practising slow yoga, and enjoying simple rituals — I want to share it. It feels too good not to.
So if you’ve been feeling called to pause, to soften, to reconnect, know this: you don’t need to wait for permission. The space is here. The invitation is open.
You are worthy of peace.
You are worthy of joy.
You are worthy of coming home to yourself.
What might shift in your life if you gave yourself the space to truly pause?
Love,
Thaleia.
